Prior to the Cardi B’s and Megan Thee Statllion’s of today there was a time when female emcees came in a vast variety of flavors ranging from the consciousness of Queen Latifah to the gritty sound of Rah Digga. And there were still other options like veteran emcee Foxy Brown who burst onto the scene confidently when she was still a teenager. Although her career has been quiet in recent years she recently made a surprise appearance in New York City as a bit of a ‘comeback’ and it did not go well. At all.

During the late 1990’s Foxy Brown (birth name Inga Marchand) provided the culture numerous hit songs from her classic releases Ill Na Na and Chyna Doll and worked with some of Hip Hop’s biggest names like Method Man, Jay-Z and Nas. But sometimes with success comes tremendous pressure to remain relevant, and Foxy has made a career of keeping her name in the headlines outside of her music. That hasn’t always been to her benefit though. For example, Foxy has been engaged in numerous beefs with many rappers like Queen Latifah, Ja Rule, Heather B, The late Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes, Eve and of course her fabled rivalry with 90’s icon Lil Kim. Aside from all of her turbulent interaction with fellow celebrities Foxy has also been known to exhibit her diva-like behavior in detrimental ways like punching police officers, spitting at hotel workers and assaulting nail technicians, the latter of which got her locked up for almost a year. In 2008 cameras were around during her release to capture her emotions as she reconnected with family and fans.

In the eleven years since this clip aired Foxy has continued stirring the pot with her intolerable behavior and now the karma has finally come back for her during a performance in her hometown New York City.
